After a two year absence from the pop-punk/alternative rock scene, one of the genre’s most influential and more well known bands is back. That’s right, Yellowcard, a pioneer group that set the bar extra high for others to step up to is rocking the stage again after a two-year hiatus with the release of their album, 'When You’re Through Thinking, Say Yes.' With Ryan Key on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Sean Mackin on violin and vocals, Ryan Mendez on lead guitar, Sean O’ Donnell on bass and vocals, and Longineu W. Parsons III on drums, Yellowcard is returning to the center stage with a vengeance. The album is a true testament to the genre, featuring such songs as 'The Sound of You and Me,' 'Hang You Up' and 'Soundtrack.'  Each song speaks its own story, blending beautiful vocals, harmonizing music and articulate and richly developed lyrics. In an age filled with nonsense songs about meaningless one night stands and glorified drug stupors that fill the Top 40 charts, it is quite refreshing to hear a well established band such as Yellowcard bring forth a well laid out and story-filled album. After a successful run with All Time Low over in Europe a couple months ago, and a looming tour with Good Charlotte, we selfishly hope the band stays busy for a long time to come.  Just when it looked as though the pop-punk genre was getting all too repetitive, Yellowcard has reinfused it with an energy and originality that we hope up and coming bands soak in.
